About the role

As the Growth, Development and Performance Director you are joining a new department that has been created within the VP Direct Insurance, Commercial lines. The purpose of this new team will be to support the division’s ambitions  related to the profitable growth of the commercial business line with direct and exclusive agent distribution and be able to mobilize the commitment of all to propel the profitable growth of commercial insurance. The incumbent will be expected to work closely and transversally with various partners, both internal and external to our division, to develop and execute the national business development and growth strategies for direct and exclusive agent distribution, for each of our growth channels. You will also be responsible for operational performance and maximizing the value of the data team to fuel our various strategies, in accordance with our objectives of sustainable and profitable growth. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Be the champion of organic growth culture within the division

  • Influence and inspire cross-functional teams to create alignment and take an innovative approach to problem solving and strategic management

  • Foster confidence in the commercial-direct offer across its multiple sales channels – from online to distribution and referral partners

  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and markets that can fuel profitable and sustainable growth

  • Collaborate with executives and key stakeholders to ensure cohesive strategies across marketing, sales, operations and product development

  • Implement performance metrics and data framework that drive accountability, operational excellence and profitability across operational departments

  • Oversee talent development, team scaling and leadership mentoring to build a high-performing growth, performance & data teams

  • Anticipate and minimize risks associated with growth initiatives to ensure sustainable and scalable expansion.

What you bring to the table  

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field  

  • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience , including four years senior management experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered  

  • Experience in growing a business sector

  • Experience in growth-oriented management, business development and performance optimization with a proven track record of scaling businesses

  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec

  • Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients 

  • Expert knowledge in designing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives & key results and other performance data management programs

  • Available for frequent travel at the request of members and clients.
