Sr. Staff Accountant

The Sr Staff Accountant is responsible for GAAP financial reporting and corporate accounting activities. The scope of this job includes preparing financial statements, researching and implementing complex accounting issues, recording journal entries, maintaining general ledger account reconciliations, and performing month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain selected general ledger accounts, ensure assigned balance sheet and key income statement accounts are reconciled monthly, and execute the monthly close process in accordance with WellSky’s policies.
- Research and implement complex accounting issues and new accounting standards.
- Integrate various accounting functions associated with the integration of recently acquired businesses.
- Identify and drive process improvement by leveraging ERP system.
- Assist external auditors with audit requests, prepare various audit schedules, and resolve any issues identified during the testing procedures.
- Work on ad hoc and technical accounting-related projects as needed.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 4-6 years of relevant work experience OR 2-3 years of public accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of Big Four accounting experience
- 1-2 years of financial reporting experience
Job Expectations:
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
- Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
- Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
