Your New Role
As a Limited Duration, Full-Time Learning & Development Specialist 2, you will play a key role in strengthening the skills and capabilities of OPRD staff. In this position, you will design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs covering a wide range of topics. You will provide expertise and consultation on curriculum development, training strategies, and assessment methods, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for employees and managers.
You will be responsible for the effective coordination and presentation of skill‑building and professional development programs across the agency. Additionally, you will consult with management on employee-related issues that arise during training sessions, partnering closely with Human Resources staff to develop solutions through supplemental training or corrective action when needed.
This role works collaboratively with a team of professional HR consultants to advance the mission, vision, and values of OPRD and the State of Oregon as one employer. You will also lead and support programs and projects that evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of agency training offerings. This includes facilitating group processes and conducting evaluations through training records, surveys, focus groups, and daily interactions with internal and external staff.

This position has the potential for hybrid-remote work and will require minimal travel; however, travel expenses to Salem for required in-person duties are not reimbursed.
