NATURE AND SCOPE:
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations (SDO) and in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards, Local, State and Federal regulations, the Regional Center Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the SDO in the planning, coordination, implementation and managing the staff and the program in Northeast Georgia. Also, assisting with establishing linkages with public and private organizations in the communities served.
RESPONSIBILITY (including, but not limited to):
• Monitor the status of the implementation of work plans at center level to ensure performance and compliance.
• Work closely with the administrative staff on resolving problems and identifying needs.
• Supervise the preparation of center budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Plan and recommend reorganization and changes in staff including promotions, transfers and salary increases.
• Assist the SDO in planning program and related functions as required.
• Assist in developing overall management plan for Northeast Georgia.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of budgets at the center level.
• Responsible for complying with all current federal, state and local policies and procedures.
• Support Head Start center directors and ensure that each center is operating properly.
• Serve on committees assigned by the SDO.
• Serves as liaison between Northeast and Administrative office.
• Insures delegate agency contract development.
• Identify and assist in the resolution of compliance issues.
• Coordinate center licensing activities for the program.
• Participate in interviews for center directors.
• Implement a monitoring system plan for center directors, facility and transportation activities. Submits monthly reports.
• Conduct monthly center reviews with the submission of a written report containing findings shared with center directors.
• Develop a plan to ensure that the Northeast region provides adequate materials and equipment for the delivery of facility and transportation services to children, their families and staff.
• Plan and coordinate staff development and training activities for center managers.
• Ensure accident reports are reported and reviewed and take immediate and necessary action according to policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY CONTROL:
The Regional Center Operations Manager is directly responsible to the SDO. The SDO will monitor monthly and evaluate annually activities of this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field
• 3+ years supervisory experience in administration, social services, or educational institution; or 5+ years of experience as an Assistant Director or manager in a private or public early childhood program.
• Must possess a high level of skill in management, supervision, program administration and operations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel between locations served on a regular basis
• Must have some general knowledge of contracts and budgetary development
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
• Must have experience in working with widely diverse groups
Ergonomics: Must be able to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift to 30lbs. Must be mobile with the ability to work actively supervise small children if needed.
