About the Role
iCapital is looking to hire a Vice President to join the Corporate Finance team. This role will involve accounting policy preparation, accounting policy research, complex transaction, and joint venture entity accounting (including month end close duties), financial reporting, consolidations and eliminations, and other financial reports as well as ad hoc projects. This position will report to the Head of Corporate Reporting.
Responsibilities
- General Accounting and Reporting:
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for responsible entities.
- Assist with the maintenance of all records and accounting files.
- Maintain the financial reporting schedules.
- Prepare and review notes to financial statements.
- Prepare the consolidation and elimination entries.
- Coordinate the audit with big four audit firm and maintain internal controls around accounting and reporting.
- Accounting Policy:
- Prepare and maintain appropriate accounting policies for the firm, inclusive of complex transactions, recurring and necessary corporate policies, and other one-off transactions requiring detailed analysis and interpretation of ASC guidance.
- Ensure compliance with policies, maintaining appropriate supporting documentation.
- Perform research and advisement on new accounting guidance issuances.
- Complex Transactions:
- Liaise with auditors and consultants to determine appropriate guidance to apply and proper accounting treatment.
- Write technical memorandums to document guidance applied, facts and circumstances of transactions, and conclusion on appropriate accounting.
- Review and approve journal entries within accounting software to ensure transactions are reflected appropriately in the books and records.
- Evaluate related tax impact to associated transactions and liaise with tax experts.
- Joint Venture Accounting and Reporting:
- Responsible for record keeping for multiple joint venture entities (to be included in corporate consolidation as well as standalone or carve-outs needed for specific reporting purposes).
- Account for Minority Interest Holders.
- Assist with distribution and coordination with third party partners.
- Other:
- Assist with the implementation of new software as needed.
- Improve, maintain, or create process for business lines or activities as applicable.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of corporate accounting or audit experience within the Financial Services industry
- CPA license required
- Detailed understanding and experience with GAAP financial reporting
- Experience with consolidation of financial statements required
- Familiar with NetSuite preferred but not required
- Familiar with Feeder Fund and Joint Venture structure
- Degree in Accounting required
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to manage large sets of data and be able to implement checks and balances
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented with big picture capability
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
