Pratt & Whitney's Module Center Engineering (MCE), in support of Compression Systems Engineering (CSE), is seeking a visionary Project Engineering Discipline Chief to provide strategic technical leadership and elevate project engineering excellence across all MCE organizations. In this role, you will leverage broad expertise across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, validation, and customer support to strengthen program execution for both development and service fleets. Acting as a vital bridge between disciplines and organizations, you will champion the health, development, and continuous improvement of our people, processes, and tools.
What You Will Do:
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Guide teams through effective task planning, execution, and the rapid resolution of critical, multi-phase technical challenges.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with organizational leaders and discipline councils to align execution and foster synergy across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), and Module Centers.
- Talent & Capability Development: Coach, mentor, and train project engineers and IPT leaders, focusing on robust planning, risk management, and accountability.
- Program & Risk Optimization: Drive process robustness, safety culture, and rigorous risk management across all module center programs.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize process improvement tools to identify, implement, and sustain advancements in project engineering methods and processes.
- Knowledge Management: Author and maintain the Project Engineering Manual (PEM), flowmaps, and lessons-learned repositories to ensure consistent standards.
- Technical Governance: Participate in key design and system reviews, supporting major rig and component development activities to ensure strict compliance.
- Travel occasionally (approximately 10%) to sites, suppliers, or customer locations as needed. (Domestic and International).

- Mastery of Enterprise-Level Technical Governance: You will learn how to navigate and influence large-scale aerospace organizations by driving process consistency, managing compliance across major design reviews, and authoring the foundational standards that govern engineering execution.
- Advanced Cross-Functional & Crisis Leadership: You will sharpen your ability to lead complex, matrixed teams (IPTs, CIPTs, and Module Centers) through high-stakes technical challenges, field/safety investigations, and urgent supplier interventions across the entire product lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement & Talent Optimization at Scale: You will develop elite coaching and mentoring capabilities while mastering executive-level continuous improvement methodologies (using CORE tools) to optimize organizational risk management, safety culture, and engineering toolsets.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and 12 years of relevant engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent, combined with 15+ years of progressive experience within the gas turbine industry.
