Position Summary

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm-10:30pm

  • 100% on-site

As an Associate Scientist III in Analytical R&D at Catalent, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with a wide range of molecules formulated in our unique softgel platform. The Role 

  • Independently performs assays, CU/dissolution, and single-analyte chromatographic testing, including complex HPLC, GC, PXRD, PSD, and LCMS analyses.

  • Prepares reagents, standards, media, and mobile phases; ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous, potent, or teratogenic compounds in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Tests, interprets, and tabulates data from stability studies, prototypes, and routine analyses, issuing accurate reports and maintaining proper documentation.

  • Assures right-first-time execution of departmental methods, SOPs, and analytical protocols.

  • Writes, reviews, and updates analytical methods, SOPs, deviations, protocols, and other technical documentation.

  • Provides project support for new product development, laboratory investigations, and root cause analysis under guidance from lead scientists or group leaders.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, peers, and management to identify and implement process improvements that reduce testing and release cycle times.

  • Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support production, validation, and departmental operations as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate 

  • Associate’s in science with 12+ years in an analytical lab, 5 in GMP environment OR

  • Bachelor’s in science with 3+ years in a GMP analytical lab OR

  • Master’s in science with 1+ years in a GMP analytical lab OR

  • PhD in science with 0 years in analytical lab

  • Experience with common pharmaceutical equipment: UV/VIS, IR, AA, and Dissolution required.

  • Expertise in wet chemistry techniques such as titrations, extractions as per compendia required.

  • Familiar with separation chromatographic instruments such as HPLC/UHPLC and GC required. 

  • Vision requirements include ability to differentiate color (Pass the Ishihara Color Vision Screening) and obtain 20/30 acuity in both far and near vision with or without corrective lenses. For Catalent’s in-house screening, the acceptable score is to identify at least 4 of 6 numbers in the circles.
