The Role: Build Something MeaningfulWe're seeking a versatile Software Engineer with strong full-stack capabilities and front-end expertise. As part of a small, collaborative team, you'll tackle diverse challenges across our stack and contribute directly to our product's evolution. You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects based on business needs—from crafting front-end experiences to developing back-end services and occasionally working with infrastructure.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects based on business needs—from crafting front-end experiences to developing back-end services and occasionally working with infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Build impactful features across our TypeScript monorepo, with primary focus on our React/Next.js front-end
- Contribute throughout the stack based on business needs—which may involve working with our web services, infrastructure code, or data processing scripts
- Work side-by-side with product, design, and engineering to deliver solutions that help both employers and employees get more value from their benefits
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance immediate business needs with long-term code maintainability
- Build for production with a focus on testability, monitoring, and observability from day one
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with a proven track record of problem-solving
- Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript development practices
- Proficiency with React and front-end development (responsive design, state management, performance optimization)
- Working knowledge of back-end development patterns and practices
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements
- Ability to make technical decisions that balance business needs with code quality
- Strong communication skills and empathy for teammates and customers
- Interest in leveraging AI to enhance user experiences
- Openness to using AI tools to supercharge your own productivity
Nice to Have
- Experience with Next.js, Adonis, or other modern frameworks
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts or Snowflake
- Prior experience applying generative AI
- Background in medical, healthcare, benefits, or related fields
- Experience implementing security practices for sensitive data
- Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes
- Prior startup experience
