POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Ops Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on daily support for our production environment in Azure, ensuring seamless change management, maintaining cloud security and infrastructure, and optimizing data pipelines and job orchestration processes. This role is critical in maintaining system reliability, scalability, and security across our Azure data ecosystem.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Production Environment Support

• Provide hands-on daily support for the production environment in Azure, ensuring system uptime and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and data loss.
• Implement and manage Azure Monitor and other monitoring tools to proactively detect and address system anomalies.

Change Management

• Oversee and implement change management processes for deployment to Azure production environments.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless and risk-mitigated deployments.
• Maintain detailed documentation of changes and their impact on system performance.

Azure Cloud Security

• Ensure the security and compliance of Azure environments, adhering to best practices and organizational policies.
• Implement Azure Active Directory (AAD) for access controls, encryption, and security monitoring tools.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Azure Cloud Infrastructure

• Manage and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with infrastructure teams to scale resources based on demand.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform for consistent and repeatable infrastructure deployment.

Data Pipelines and Job Orchestration

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT).
• Implement and manage job orchestration tools to ensure reliable data processing workflows.
• Monitor pipeline performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in data operations, Azure cloud infrastructure, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Functions.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Terraform).
• Familiarity with Azure Data Orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory or Apache Airflow.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards system reliability.

Preferred Skills

• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Azure Security Engineer.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
