Job Description
Reporting to the VP Data, you will play a key role in shaping Omio’s progress towards our strategic goals. Collaborating closely with a diverse set of stakeholders, both internal and across our partner / provider networks, your team is key to how we understand our business and how we drive things forward.
- Manage a team of analysts, providing guidance and workload planning, and a positive environment for career progression, engagement and personal development.
- Establish and provide a platform for tracking of, and insights on, our core financial and performance metrics; report weekly to senior commercial stakeholders on their evolution, detect anomalies, evaluate key drivers and diagnose root cause of an issue
- Work alongside the commercial teams to draw insights on performance of key commercial metrics related to inventory, funnel conversions, bookings, basket size, take rates, etc. across markets
- Discover industry trends and develop market-intelligence insights to inform our own business and to build a data-storytelling programme of PR and brand- building content.
- Lead on bringing together insights and calculations to prepare our regular budget planning and reporting cycles.
- Build forecasting models to understand gaps in current performance and sales/revenue optimization models to enhance margins without negatively impacting user experience.
- Perform statistical analyses - including A/B tests and pre/post analyses.
- Correlate marketing/product/commercial data to derive key insights.
- Work with our data engineering/business intelligence teams to build data models, which best summarise and utilise our production data
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Required
- You have led a small team with success and enjoy empowering others to grow in their career path
- Passionate about working with numbers; you hold excellent analytical skills, have confidence in working with large data sets and are an expert in SQL and other analytical languages (e.g. R/Python)
- Experience in data visualisation tools (at least one of Tableau / Looker essential, to a high level).
- Solid understanding of data model design best practices.
- Deep knowledge of data storytelling practices and how to build dashboards with impact.
- Demonstrable history in collaborative working with semi-/non-technical stakeholders.
- A bias towards action and a solution oriented approach to problem solving
- You are fluent in English; additional languages are always valued at Omio
- Desirable
- Experience of B2C businesses, and their key metrics and lifecycle.
- Travel industry experience.
- University degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field; 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in e-commerce.
