About Us:
The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy.  Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana.  Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.

Job Description

Position Summary:The VP, Project Services provides strategic leadership and oversight across contracts, procurement, cost management, estimating, project accounting, planning, scheduling, and reporting functions to ensure successful delivery of project services across projects, operations, and maintenance for Commonwealth LNG. The role will oversee, facilitate, and ensure performance of responsibilities in accordance with Company and Project Guidelines and Procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage and develop an organization that provides fit-for-purpose and effective project controls support to the project and future operations.
  • Maintain timely awareness of project cost performance against baseline; analyze potential changes; recommend corrective actions.
  • Managing expenditure authorizations with cross-functional groups, i.e., Finance, Accounting, Legal, Management, etc.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of contracts including drafting, negotiation, execution, and administration.
  • Ensure suitable project controls tools are utilized and integrated for both Company and the Contractor systems.
  • Monitor and review the project controls element of contractor performance throughout the contract life cycle including quantity tracking and validation; recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Facilitate sharing of data and analysis between Company and external groups as necessary
  • Prepare regular and timely progress reports and may entail aggregating contractor’s cost reports and schedules into an overall integrated cost report and overall project schedule, detailing progress against plans and budgets, for circulation to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Populate and update Company’s project monthly report and submit other progress information as requested for management reviews.
  • Manage the attesting and approval for payment of all invoices submitted for payment.
  • Prepare project controls elements of bid specifications and review tender submissions prior to the contract award.
  • Ensure operations and maintenance cost controls are in place and report on annual budget spend curves.
  • Review contractor cost and schedule reports and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensure the capture of project close-out information to improve cost estimating and schedule projections for future opportunities.

Qualifications:Education, Certificates, and Licenses:Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or finance is required.

Experience:
  • 20+ years of project controls experience with no less than 10 years in a managerial role
  • LNG experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong technical management abilities with effective project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of both Major Capital and Small Capital project execution.
  • Strong understanding of Earn Value Measurement Systems; Rules of Credit and Chart of Account.
  • Strong knowledge of planning, scheduling, estimating, risk analysis, progress tracking and reporting.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills; collaborative; self-starter; commitment and dedication through project completion; attention to detail; sound decision-making; and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify issues, recommend, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of project execution i.e. construction and project completions techniques and practices.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and multiple schedules and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented, ensuring accuracy in data, reporting, and project tracking.
  • Ability to adapt to change, organize, plan, control, coordinate, and effectively manage cross-functional assignments and teams.
  • Sufficient computer literacy to provide quantitative and written reports through the use of Primavera, Ecosys, spreadsheets, charts, PowerPoint, Visio and Dashboard.
