About the role
- Reports to HR Generalist
- Works primarily in the Advertising-Promotion’s department
- Assists with, attends, and executes special client/promotional events, remotes, activities and community service programs sponsored by the station(s) on/off-site
- Assists with the set-up and breakdown of station promotional equipment that includes banners, tents, balloons, prize wheel, etc.
- Assists with contesting paperwork and phone calls
- Drives company van (Chevy Traverse) as needed
- Attends sales meetings, brainstorming sessions and takes part in training
- Assists the morning shows and podcast teams
- Job shadows in production, marketing, graphic design, and videography
- Assists other departments and employees as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a letter of recommendation from your college advisor including verification that the internship will result in college credit or experiential learning requirement towards graduation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving history as determined by the Company. (Driving record will be checked)
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work:
- June – August
- 20 – 29 hours a week
- Early mornings, evenings, weekends & holidays
- Punctuality and attendance are critical
- Reliable, creative, outgoing and personable; able to interact with the public while projecting an appropriate station image with respect to dress and demeanor.
- Must be a problem solver with the ability to prioritize.
- Must have the ability to work well in a team, as well as individually.
- Ability to work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow both oral and written direction.
- Ability to think critically and quickly and to articulate information in clear, concise manner to others.
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, & PowerPoint
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Works under tight deadlines and in pressure situations. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to manipulate general office equipment (telephone, copier, etc.) and drive vehicle. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Average pushing and pulling, bending and stooping. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. The Company may make reasonable accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform essential job functions.
