The Role:

  • As a Principle Associate, Cyber Risk & Analysis on the Data Protection Governance and Operations Team, you will be responsible for managing the risk, delivery, and operational governance-related activities for multiple Cyber data protection services, including new and existing Cyber technology and policy products and processes. You will mature and measure operational and delivery processes by working with Cyber service leadership, Product teams, horizontal partner teams (Audit, TRM, Architecture, and TPM) and technology teams to identify, document, and mitigate operational risks to Capital One. You will build quantitative metrics and dashboards, providing transparent, simple and predictable performance insights, with the goal of balancing the implementation of change initiatives and the maintenance of business-as-usual, while optimizing return on investment.

  • Additionally, as a member of the service team, you will be responsible to work across product, engineering, and operational teams in and outside of Cyber to oversee the governance of key initiatives that cross multiple partners and/or have associate facing impacts. These particular initiatives require an additional layer of support to ensure we have excellent communications, change management, and risk management documentation that support our broad set of customers including associates, ISOs, BROs, and other key stakeholders. This role defines, supports and continuously improves the work management and risk management practices that enable transparency, efficiency, and auditability across our products and services. 

Responsibilities:

  • Define, support, and continuously improve work management and risk management practices that enable transparency, efficiency, and auditability across our products and services

  • Identify areas of opportunity and implement improvements to manage the flow of information between Data Protection Services (DPS) and Stakeholder groups (LOBs, ISOs, BROs, etc)

  • Enable a consistent, organized, shared approach for all DPS processes and documentation so that it’s easy to find/use and audit ready (ie evidence, inventories, ARs, key decisions, job aids, etc)

  • Play a key role driving select initiatives across Technology, Lines of Business, and horizontal functions

  • Design dashboards for Cyber Service Areas and teams, providing simple and predictable performance insights to be leveraged to optimize delivery

  • Support project and program delivery efforts through project and process management, reporting, engagement in senior leadership meetings, and other governance activities

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Demonstrate strong influential communications, including across levels, teams and organizations, and have experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills 

  • Be an exceptional analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, sound independent judgment, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Effectively identify insights and communicate them to those they support, acting as a change agent to influence our partners

  • Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion

  • Be highly effective in rapidly changing environments 

  • Be self-motivated 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 2 years of experience developing, evaluating, or implementing governance of technology initiatives

  • At least 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams

  • At least 2 years of experience partnering with
