Job Description Summary

The Research Data and Digital Scholarship (RDDS) team at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries facilitates data-driven and data-literate research and scholarship and fosters critical and ethical data communities of practice across the disciplines at Penn. Our team has expertise in text and data mining, public scholarship, digital humanities, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, data visualization, open science, and GIS. The RDDS team seeks a collaborative mapping and geospatial data librarian.

This librarian will provide (a) project and classroom support to Penn faculty whose research and scholarship involves creating, using, and visualizing geospatial data and (b) training for students in geospatial methods, tools, technologies, and critical geospatial approaches. The librarian will participate in our GIS team to build a community around GIS and mapping tools, engaging with the diverse academic disciplines interested in mapping across the university. The position reports to the Director of RDDS.
