Job Title: Student Worker - Tutor (3rd-5th Grade)

Job Summary: The Simple Room is seeking a dedicated and compassionate student worker to serve as a tutor for the 3rd-5th grade room. This individual will lead and facilitate tutor time, providing academic support and mentorship to children in alignment with The Simple Room's mission and Christian values. The tutor will lead the room under the guidance of the Education Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead tutor time for 3rd-5th grade students, providing academic assistance and homework help.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Build meaningful relationships with students while serving as a positive role model.
• Implement effective tutoring strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and structured environment during tutor time.
• Collaborate with Simple Room staff to support the holistic development of each student.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Must be a current student at Greenville University (GU).
• Available to work from 3:00 PM to 5:00 or 6:00 PM on designated weekdays.
• Demonstrates Christian values and characteristics consistent with The Simple Room's mission.
• Passionate about working with children and helping them succeed academically.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Previous tutoring or mentoring experience is preferred but not required.
