Senior Manager, NA Data Centers Finance

This position is remote and reports to the Senior Director, Global Data Centers Finance

The Senior Manager, NA Data Centers Finance is responsible for leading the financial management processes for the North America Data Center business.  This role will directly support the NA Leadership Team and their direct reports as a trusted Finance partner while also supporting the Commercial team with deal modeling and revenue generation.

As a key member of the Finance team and a business partner, this individual will help drive efficiency improvements throughout the Data Center organization through various activities including financial and operational KPIs, performance management, modeling, forecasting, and reporting tailored to enable decision-making by senior management.  Strong collaboration, relationship building and communication skills are required to build a strong network and work across various teams and levels.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Own the annual budget and monthly financial forecasting processes including revenue and operating expenses as well as driving risk and opportunity management

  • Prepare monthly business performance reporting for senior leaders, including revenue and operating expense reporting, and financial analysis

  • Deliver analytical insight and ensure key business performance risk, issues, and opportunities are highlighted to management as well as develop contingency plans in case risks materialize

  • Own the enhancement of financial analysis to advance understanding of budget and forecast variances including action plans on how to continually improve forecasting accuracy

  • Partner and build relationships with the operations, revenue management, and sales teams

  • Partner closely with the accounting team to support the close process and mitigate variances, true-ups, and one-time adjustments

  • Support the site teams in operational reporting and analysis and engage in forward looking discussions for areas of improvement including financial improvements and implementing process efficiencies

  • Support the sales team with existing contract changes & new customers including modeling customer-level financial expectations and maintaining a revenue forecast based new deal pipeline, pricing, and contract renewal expectations


 

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA a strong plus

  • 8-10+ years of progressive financial experience focused on providing budget, forecast and business analysis support within a large sophisticated corporation; ideally gained through performing a mix of Corporate, Business Unit and Operational Finance roles

  • Ability to build partnerships, influence decisions and coordinate across multiple business units through strong communication skills

  • Ability to anticipate barriers/opportunities and think out of the box to enable solutions

  • Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills including advanced Excel proficiency

  • Strong analytical skills needed to synthesize large quantities of data, identify trends and drivers, and distill them into insightful analysis for senior management.

  • Ability to build partnerships, influence decisions, work in a collaborative style and become a sought-out financial business part
