Working in Asset Exposure Management Europe:
Statkraft has undergone a material strategical and organisational change within 2022 with a clear vision to renew the way the world is powered through an accelerated growth ambition on the development of solar, onshore and offshore wind, and battery storage. Europe is in the heart of this strategy and will therefore be the core geographic area to focus on. The Asset Exposure Management Europe unit originated from this change and is in its early stage of development. The unit is responsible for actively managing the market exposure of Statkraft’s existing and future assets in Europe to ensure long-term value creation. We manage several risk management portfolios for the existing power asset portfolio that aims at balancing risk / reward with the intend to add value through profound market competence. Further, we guide the asset owner with commercial strategy support on route-to-market options for the development pipeline and Statkraft’s future asset base. The role is vital for Statkraft’s growth ambition, you will be given responsibility from day one and you will get the chance to actively contribute to its development!
Job Description
- Responsibility for managing the overall asset exposure in line with asset owners risk policy
- Responsibility for developing and maintaining tools and processes to analyse the total asset exposure
- Delivering commercial strategy support to European Asset owners
- Contributing to the development, review & update of the asset owners risk policy
- Contributing to the setup of individual risk management portfolios
- Responsibility for provision of power market analysis and outlooks for relevant decision fora
- Contributing to unit’s single point of contact role for Business Area Europe
Qualifications
- Relevant higher education (Economics, Sciences, Engineering or similar)
- Several years experience within the electricity market sphere with deep understanding of power market fundamentals and excellent understanding of the range of Market’s products
- Strong experience in asset exposure management, including total asset risk exposure and managing risk portfolios (including PPAs, financial optimisation and hedging)
- Deep understanding of Statkraft’s markets, risks and market exposure of different asset classes
- Profound knowledge in modelling, programming (e.g. python), data analytics with excellent statistical understanding
- Ability to translate complex analysis into concrete and easily understandable recommendations and actions
- Strong commercial mindset and proactive problem solver
- Very strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills including project management experience
- Fluent language skills in English
