ASIC Integration Engineer (Entry Level)

About our group:

 

Our team is the top level integration team for Seagate HDD controller ASICs.  We integrate IP into a top level SOC, run synthesis, STA, and handoff a netlist to our backend team.  We interact with many different teams within Seagate from Controller and Servo Firmware to IP teams to verification and backend teams.  We own the SOC process from the requirement gathering phase, through the integration, as well as supporting silicon bringup and integration.  There are also potentially RTL design opportunities in this role.

About the role - you will:

 

 

• IntegrateIP designs into the SOC level design
• Work with IP teams, FW teams, and Backend Teams
• Run synthesis
• Perform STA debug and analysis
• Develop and support scripts used in our flow
• Work across teams
• Contribute to the success of ASIC controllers
• Do RTL Design

About you:

 

• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Desire to contribute, to learn, and to grow

 

Your experience includes:

 

• Knowledge of Hardware Description Languages such as Verilog and System Verilog
• Basic Unix/Linux Operating System understanding
• Scripting skills in Perl, TCL/TK, Python, and/or shell scripting
• Professional communication skills in person and written
• Troubleshooting skills and ability to debug tool, RTL, and script failures
• Experience with DFT flow
• Knowledge of Synopsys and/or Cadence tools
• Understanding of and experience in overall ASIC development and process flow
• Understanding of logic design and timing constraints
• Experience with Static Timing Analaysis
• Knowledge of disc drive controller architecture
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Experience with JavaScript and/or HTML
• Regular Expression experience
• BSEE, BSCS, or MSEE, MSCS, or equivalent
