Your Impact
As the Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, you will have the opportunity to lead technical research, develop accounting policy and oversee aspects of the SEC financial reporting and investor relations deliverables review. This senior leader will drive high quality regulatory and financial reporting requirements and robust disclosure controls, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on a broad set of topics including but not limited to new accounting standards analysis and implementation, ESG reporting, peer disclosure benchmarking, operational metrics disclosure and other new ad hoc transactions. This role will also have an opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders to develop review materials for executive leadership teams and Audit Committee.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from USA
Reports to: Vice President, Financial & SEC Reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop external reporting materials such as investor presentations, shareholder letters, Form 8K, 10Q, 10K and proxy materials
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare comprehensive accounting memos covering key considerations ranging from GAAP assessment and investor relations implications to operational and system implications
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive implementation of new accounting and reporting standards
- Be a subject matter expert on technical GAAP topics and provide consulting advice to operational and business teams
- Prepare executive level presentations to communicate complex accounting concepts in a concise and plain English manner
- Develop efficient and effective preventive disclosure controls to enhance external reporting robustness
- Coach and mentor other team members on complex accounting and reporting research and analysis
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & CPA required (other related degrees or certifications a plus)
- 10+ years’ experience at a public accounting firm focusing on large accelerated filers and/or technical accounting and financial reporting experience at a large accelerated filer
- Experience in complex stock compensation transactional review, ESG reporting and non-GAAP rules
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Industry experience in SaaS
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Ability to build an effective team through coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, and achieve results

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 126,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 225,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 189,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 338,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
