Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $101,800 - $134,850 a year plus bonus potential. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Safety Director is responsible for maintaining safe and healthful environment by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; investigating violations; recommending preventive programs; developing safety systems, policies, and procedures; training managers and employees; developing safety campaigns, communications and recognitions; directing staff.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist team members in developing proactive measures to target incident reductions in Workman s Compensation (WC) claims
  • Communicate safety prevention plans and obtain support from divisional Leadership
  • Track and report results, driving to continuous improvement
  • Assist in creating and implementing a consistent management system by developing policies and procedures to enable SGWS to build a continuous and successful improvement structure
  • Ensure policies and procedures are updated, implemented, and followed, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, Corporate and Divisional requirements in their area of responsibility, and assisting other divisions where needed
  • Assist in developing and implementing corresponding training programs focused on incident reduction.
  • Assist in developing consistent metrics and key performance indicators that enable executive leadership to assess and track program effectiveness
  • Consistently communicate with SGWS associates and leadership performance against goals
  • Promote and foster an environment of cooperation and success with all divisional safety resources
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to divisional safety staff (dedicated or part-time)
  • Assess and identify appropriate resources and equipment necessary to fully support company s objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Experience in supply chain logistics, warehouse and distribution management
  • Experience in beverage, Wine & Spirits and or consumer packaged goods distributor/manufacturing environment

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
