The US Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM) Risk Assessment Team is responsible for the governance, oversight, and execution of the ML/TF, Sanctions, and ABC risk assessments across the US units and segments, including identifying enhancements to the Risk Assessment Methodology and processes. The FCRM US Risk Assessment specialist contributes to the execution of the risk assessments through supporting the delivery of the team’s business strategies and objectives in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures and collaborating with stakeholder groups across the bank in both 1LoD and 2LoD functions, and business lines.
The AML Financial Crime Risk Oversight Specialist acts as key business oversight lead and provides expert/specialized business guidance and 2nd line challenge and oversight to portfolios, businesses and functions on development, maintenance, and implementation of all aspects of AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC compliance programs in line with the Bank's risk appetite and strategic direction.
Depth & Scope:
- Senior specialist with AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC expertise, works independently and is accountable for managing a specialized AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC function or area
- Provides comprehensive coverage for a significant business or functional area across all legal entities and jurisdictions where TD operates
- Provides AML/ATF/Sanctions/ABAC advice to a business as GAML representative on a complex project or change initiative
- Provides advanced analysis and/or specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas, or centers of expertise
- Provides guidance and support to analysts on matters related to portfolio and speciality
- Expert knowledge of the business and operational functions supported
- Typically a subject matter expert for a key functional AML/ATF/ Sanctions/ABAC area and business requirements
- Contact for business management, external/internal auditors, dealing with non-routine information
- Manages/assists with regulatory reviews including inquiries, audits, and exams
- Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses/technology, and organizational practices/disciplines
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in risk assessment execution providing credible challenge in response to stakeholder self-assessments and data validation; experience with targeted risk assessments is a plus.
- Experience developing processes and controls.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple management levels, jurisdictions, business lines and support functions to drive results and meet timely deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
