IDS, a division of ITW, is a global market leader in the design and manufacturing of pad printing, hot stamp, heat seal, and tax stamp technology for product decoration. Located in Lancaster, NY. We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual whose work will reflect IDS’s commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for assisting in the Sales Team by providing technical knowledge and/or traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including installation, training, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on a variety of IDS products. The ability to grasp and learn both the hot stamp and tax stamp machine operations is critical.
Pay Range: $24.20 - $32.80 per hour
This is an hourly position.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn both tax stamp and hot stamp machinery. Responsibilities thereafter will apply to both.
- Internally performs machinery setup, debug and testing. Provides feedback to the Engineering Team related to design and/or programming improvements, performance, issues or changes following appropriate procedures and policies.
- Internally works with customers providing demonstrations, setup, testing and training.
- Provides customer service by phone, email, text or other methods necessary to assist customers with resolving machinery and / or decorating related problems.
- Assists the Production Team with machinery assembly, refurbishment, and component fabrication.
- Assists the Sales Team with applications and prototypes.
- Monitors machinery developments and improvements.
- Responsible for safe work environment of area and operation of equipment.
- Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma/GED
Experience/Skills:
- Two (2) years prior experience in a technical role required
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and perform multiple varied duties
- Mechanical assembly and diagnosis experience; automated machinery experience preferred.
- Electrical Assembly and diagnosis experience a plus; automated machinery experience preferred.
- Highly motivated and results oriented.
- Prior experience with machine maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability with effective diagnosis and troubleshooting skills.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.
