We are looking for a transformational leader to join our Oils Commodities Research team and manage the team focused on America’s Oil Market. In LSEG Oils Research we offer in-depth insights into the diverse world of oil products, including crude, middle and light distillates, and biofuels. Your role will involve building the team that is providing insights into global production trends, market demands, and trade dynamics. You will get a significant opportunity to contribute to Oils Research strategy, build product views and provide a narrative around supply-demand dynamics with a global perspective.
Skills and Experience required:
- Experienced, proven and effective people manager
- Deep understanding of commodities markets (knowledge of oil and/ or shipping markets, or any experience of commodities workflows and systems)
- Experience in building supply & demand views
- Confidence and ability to develop strategies to grow usage of Research content across products
- Proven ability to partner across functional teams on initiatives to grow revenue
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience in working in and leading complex teams in-person and virtually
- Proven execution skills, ability to drive a team to deliver objectives and roadmaps effectively and on time
- Being innovative and bold, willingness to introduce new ideas and approaches to improve efficiency or effectiveness of the teams, generating enthusiasm for change within the team
Key Goals and Expectations of the role
- Manage the US oil team of market experts in Houston
- Develop the Oil Research strategy for Americas in partnership with the commodities proposition to ensure our offering corresponds the needs of our customers in the changing market environment
- Establish the best operating model for the team by taking into consideration talent, areas of expertise and functional alignment with markets, drive efficiency and process improvements
- Deliver existing roadmap; continually develop and improve existing content, as well as build supply and demand view for the Americas market, contribute to the global research initiatives and projects.
- Support our sales and marketing organization through thought leadership, webinars, conferences and sales events. Support our customers through continuously improving our customer service.
- Partner with other Content & Research, Technology, Product and Process Excellence teams in related areas and develop appropriate operating rhythms to exploit potential alignments, identify and reduce barriers to execution,
- Develop and retain talent and expertise across the team, driving team engagement and career development
