About the Team
Workday has launched an Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) Team to Transform and optimize the way Workday creates and shares trusted data to drive actionable insights and data led innovation across the enterprise. To enable this strategy, the ED&A team has worked with the business to identify critical business areas in which data and analytics can make a material difference in the execution of Workday’s strategic goals. Each of these goals is being organized as a data product with a dedicated multi-functional team to drive a diverse set of data management, governance, and data analytics to realize relevant, measurable business change.As part of ED&A and enabling this strategy, the Enterprise Data Governance team drives the creation of policies, procedures, and operating models that will improve the overall quality and reliability of data across Workday in support of operational and analytical strategic business outcomes.
About the Role
The Director of Data Management and Stewardship is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Workday’s data management and stewardship program. This Workmate will focus on implementing policies, procedures, and standards to improve overall understanding, integrity and trust of data within Workday’s operating and MDM platforms. The Director of Data Management and Stewardship will work closely with ED&A team and other groups to ensure data is used effectively and support the organization's mission by setting up a robust federated stewardship model and applicable communication methods.
Develop and implement a data management strategy that aligns with Workday’s overall business goals and objectives.
Develop and lead a team of data management professionals and process stewards responsible for handling Workday’s most critical data assets.
Work with Privacy and Legal teams to establish modern procedures and retention policies to enhance compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Develop a federated data stewardship model and lead efforts to improve metadata collection and process stewardship.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that data management is a priority across the organization.
Identify and implement data management technologies and solutions in accordance with Workday’s.
Work with the Enterprise Data Governance team to establish consistency in data within the analytics environment and enforce data remediation team to improve data at source.
Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives and advocate for data requirements.
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and recommended practices in data management.
About You
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
