The Haslam College of Business (HCB) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a Special Programs Manager (Full-time, Exempt) in the Business Analytics & Statistics department.  Reporting to the Assistant Department Head, this position provides project management, external relations, and operational leadership to the department's Corporate Partnership Program. The Special Programs Manager interfaces directly with corporate partners, who are typically VPs of multinational organizations, to ensure mutually beneficial relations that support student opportunities and enrich the curriculum. This position also provides project management to independently organize and manage numerous large-scale events and programs each year to further the goals of the Corporate Partnership Program while serving the needs of external partners. This position also conducts ongoing evaluation and assessment of activities and recommends and implements improvements.  

The Special Programs Manager also works with the department’s JTV Center overseeing and executing daily operations, providing executive-level administrative support, and gives work direction to administrative staff.

 

Qualifications

 

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Partner Responsibilities
    • Implement strategy for and execute ongoing, comprehensive efforts to grow and maintain network of corporate partners through the use of HubSpot (the department’s CRM platform)
    • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts at partner companies, creating pathways for recruitment of BAS students and opportunities for further engagement and collaboration
    • Serve as liaison between department, partner organizations, and campus resources to identify and create connections and opportunities between all parties
    • Continually network with company representatives to develop new relationships, expand job and internship opportunities for BAS students, and ensure department is meeting partners' needs
    • Interface with faculty to identify areas of need in classrooms and connect them with partner resources to strengthen relationships, create opportunities for students, and enhance curriculum relevance
    • Conduct ongoing assessment to ensure the needs/interests of partners are well-aligned with the need and interests of the department and students
    • Conduct evaluation and reporting of all partner development activities and efforts
  • Event Project Management
    • Independently manage and execute all aspects of special events for Corporate Partnership Program and JTV Center, from planning through post-event assessment, including but not limited to project schedules, logistics, staffing, budgets, stakeholder interactions, guest concierge services, and vendor relations
    • Events include but are not limited to one national conference, two advisory board meetings, and numerous other events and meetings each year
    • Design, schedule, and promote events and professional development opportunities to benefit students and bolster partner relationships
    • Provide consultation on recruiting and related events to partners to ensure benefit to all parties
