At Nexus Neurorecovery Center (NNC), we believe recovery extends beyond the hospital—it means helping individuals regain independence, purpose, and meaningful employment. As part of Nexus Health Systems, our 26-acre neurorehabilitation campus in Conroe provides comprehensive inpatient, residential, outpatient, and vocational rehabilitation services for adults recovering from traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, spinal cord injury (SCI), and other complex neurological conditions.

Supported by an exceptional interdisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, psychologists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, NNC proudly holds five CARF Three-Year Accreditations, including Brain Injury Specialty Program – Vocational Services. Our collaborative approach combines medical, behavioral, and rehabilitative care to help patients achieve greater independence and successful community reintegration.

We're looking for an experienced Vocational Program Director to lead, grow, and elevate our CARF-accredited vocational rehabilitation program while helping patients transition from recovery to meaningful employment and independent living.

What You'll Do

Lead the Vocational Rehabilitation Program

  • Provide strategic and clinical leadership for NNC's CARF-accredited Vocational Services Program.
  • Drive continuous program improvement while maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality and patient outcomes.
  • Oversee departmental operations, budgeting, performance metrics, and accreditation readiness.
  • Develop innovative vocational programming that prepares individuals with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions for successful community employment.

Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team

  • Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Partner with physicians, nursing, behavioral health, and rehabilitation therapists to integrate vocational goals into individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure vocational rehabilitation is incorporated early in the recovery process and remains a core component of patient care.

Build Community & Employer Partnerships

  • Develop relationships with employers throughout the Greater Houston and Conroe communities.
  • Expand competitive employment opportunities through strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation (TWC-VR) and other community organizations.
  • Promote community integration and long-term employment success for patients.

Lead and Develop Your Team

  • Recruit, mentor, supervise, and develop vocational rehabilitation professionals.
  • Foster a culture centered on evidence-based practice, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide leadership that supports professional growth and exceptional patient care.

Drive Results

  • Monitor patient outcomes and program performance using meaningful data and quality metrics.
  • Maintain CARF accreditation standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance services, improve patient outcomes, and expand vocational programming.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a closely related field
  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential
  • Minimum 7 years of vocational rehabilitation experience serving individuals with acquired brain injury or other neurological conditions
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or program management expe
