Job Description
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and driving month-end processes for this fast-paced FMCG business. You’ll leverage your expertise in Xero to manage accounts payable and sales ledgers, perform crucial reconciliations, and support comprehensive month-end reporting. This position offers a unique blend of day-to-day bookkeeping and strategic financial support, allowing you to make a significant impact on the company’s financial health. You’ll collaborate with a global team, including in-house supply chain experts, providing you with exposure to various aspects of an international FMCG operation.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate accounts payable and sales ledgers using Xero
- Conduct regular financial reconciliations to ensure data integrity
- Create and post manual journals, including sales accrual journals at month-end
- Prepare and analyze month-end balance sheets
- Support the month-end closing process, dedicating three days per month to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Collaborate with the in-house supply chain team to ensure seamless integration of stock and sales data
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making processes
Requirements
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the FMCG or retail sector
- Expert knowledge of double-entry accounting principles and manual journal entries
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Sharp attention to detail with a track record of maintaining high accuracy in financial records
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Flexibility to align with UK business hours, particularly during the 9-10 AM UK time slot
- Adaptability to unique situations while adhering to established accounting processes
- Passion for the food industry and interest in contributing to a growing FMCG business
