Job Description

The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Software (SW) Engineering Department has an opportunity for a talented Software Engineer I to join our team. Typical job functions for the Software Engineer I include

This is an onsite role, based out of Largo, Florida.

What You Will Do:

• participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions. 

• Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a Master’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required ​

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance ​

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development Methodologies

• Exposure to Model Driven Development

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded programming, processor/board architecture and design

• Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other Real time operating systems

• Experience with C, C++,  or JAVA

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment that requires multi-level communication with other engineering, program, and external stakeholders.
