Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced builder and service-oriented leader to drive the development and innovation across Alltrna’s Informatics, Information Technology, and Cyber Security disciplines. This function encompasses all aspects of foundational digital infrastructure and systems that enable and support work across Alltrna: IT, Informatics, Security, and Software and Data Engineering. You will lead and operate at all levels, managing a growing digital team and diverse vendor landscape, drive and execute multi-disciplinary digitals products and services, and manage stakeholders and leaders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs – Discovery Platform, Development, Medicinal Chemistry, G&A, CMC, Regulatory and Medical Affairs and more.
- Develop and own the vision and roadmap for Digital Systems aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify objectives, priorities, risks, and metrics to measure impact; align scope with leadership team.
- Drive the design, development, deployment, adoption, and ongoing operation of stage-appropriate integrated digital systems to support and enable the work of end users in functions across the company.
- Communicate plans and progress to other senior leaders, the Executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.
- Advocate for and drive best practices and standards in technical and operational capabilities.
- Grow, lead, and develop a team of engineers, and IT professionals.
- Enable and lead a culture of continuous innovation, including best practices in project management and software/automation development.
- Develop and manage progress against hiring plans, budgets, and goals.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor or technical degree with evidence of advanced technical or management training. (e.g. PhD, MS, MBA, Certified AWS Solution Architect).
- 15+ years of technical experience in Digital positions, ideally in a biotech or startup environments.
- Progressively increasing levels of leadership responsibility, including building teams and developing individuals.
- Deep technical understanding in multiple areas of IT, informatics, software engineering, data engineering, and cybersecurity (including as an individual contributor in some of these areas).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, multi-disciplinary digital projects to production use and impact on the organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in organizational or team start-up, demonstrating a high degree of ownership and hands-on building digital products, IT services and teams.
- Demonstrated delivery of advanced clinical informatics solutions through implementation of standards and technology, including healthcare (HL7 FHIR), observational research (OMOP), and interventional research (SDTM), as well as diverse data type integration (e.g., omics, manufacturing, claims).
