Lab Supervisor-Veterinary and Sciences

Compensation Range:

$43,888.00 - $68,773.43

Position Summary:

The position supervises Veterinary Tech, Biology and Chemistry labs at assigned campus and ensures classes are provided with all necessary supplies and equipment.  Ensures lab operates in compliance with all safety rules.  Supervises, monitors and coordinates the activities of and provides support and assistance to assigned laboratories to enable effective and safe lab operations.  The vet tech lab functions would involve such things as maintaining lab equipment, supplies, drugs, performing quality control, scheduling regular maintenance, creating databases for our supplies, ordering and stocking supplies, checking for expiration dates, etc.

Job Duties: 

• Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates work of lab staff.
• Determines needs and justification for staffing, supplies and equipment.
• Maintains inventory of materials and equipment and ensures proper maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Ensures lab operates in compliance with all safety rules.

Required Qualifications: 

The position requires at least an associate’s degree or two-year College equivalent (at least 60 undergraduate hours) and at least one year of prior-related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Veterinary Technician Preferred.
