We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This posting is for one position and will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The Dominion Energy Virginia Training group is looking for a training specialist to join their team. Our training specialists are responsible for instructor-led and web-based training needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for supporting training programs for Power Generation and Power Delivery, as well as supporting other training efforts as needed. They create training materials that meet identified training objectives and comply with established development standards. The successful intermediate and senior candidates will have experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, and Articulate Storyline (or similar authoring software such as Adobe Captivate). The successful associate candidate will have experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Associate training specialist: 0-2 years of directly related experience
• Training specialist: 3+ years of previous directly-related experience.*
• Senior training specialist: 5+ years of previous directly-related experience.*

*Note: A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.

• Full knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enjoys working collaboratively as a part of a large team. 
• Excellent personal computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, and Adobe InDesign.
• Exercises independent judgement and decision-making in planning, organizing, and conducting work assignments.
• Effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments. 
• Ability to showcase proactive, continuous development of their own knowledge, skills, and abilities to reach a higher level of proficiency and work complexity.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
