Overview

Gilbane is seeking a VDC Manager to be responsible for the planning and allocating of VDC resources, preparation of VDC budgets, and overall success of coordination efforts for projects across their assigned business unit. This role will primarily sit in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Autonomous in leading project coordination on simultaneous projects
  • Ensure all VDC project deliverables are delivered on time and within the stipulated scope and budget
  • Lead initiation and planning of VDC scope and ensure technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Forecasting and executing on staffing needs for projects responsible and BU
  • Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the coordination progress of the project
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of project coordination
  • Manage relationships between clients and stakeholders
  • Measure VDC performance using appropriate project management tools
  • Perform risk management analysis to reduce project risks
  • Report and escalate to upper management as and when needed
  • Monitor quality and execution of comprehensive coordination documentation
  • Coach and develop team of VDC Engineers & Managers
  • Integrated into BU sales strategy and forecasting project pipeline
  • Lead 6-8 VDC deliverables at one time, including through the work of direct reports
  • Subject matter expert (SME) leading one of the sub-focus groups within the overall Peer Group; responsible for externally (from VDC) communicating findings of sub-focus group

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • BA/BS/MS degree in Architecture, Engineering or BIM related specialties
  • 5+ years of VDC Coordination experience
  • 1 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong time-management and analytical skills
  • Expert user of BIM and design software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, In-design)
  • Firm understanding of complex design concepts and integrated building components and systems
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to a team of VDC Engineers
