About the role

VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is growing! We are adding Registered Veterinary Technicians to our ER/CCU, Specialty and GP Teams.

We have added positions and have openings on the following teams:

  • Specialty Oncology
  • Specialty Internal Medicine
  • ER and Critical Care Unit
  • General Practice

Location: 98-1254 Kaʻahumanu St, Pearl City, HI 96782

Compensation : $ 25 - $ 35 / hr

Dependent on position, schedule, experience, education, credentials, and position on team.

Schedule : FT all shifts depending team and position

Requirements: Must have a current veterinary technician license in the state or Hawaii or be eligible to transfer/obtain a license in Hawaii.

Overall Responsibility:  Our Veterinary Technicians deliver compassionate, high-quality care to every patient. We foster a progressive learning environment that supports your career growth and encourages you to fully utilize and expand your technical skills. Positions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
  • Venipuncture and IVC placement
  • Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
  • Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
  • Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
  • Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
  • Surgical preparation and assisting.
  • Anesthesia monitoring.
  • Dentistry and dental radiographs
  • Diagnostic imaging
