A Brief Overview
The Cardiovascular Programs Manager (CV-PM) is responsible for planning, developing, managing, evaluating and coordinating the care of patients across the multiple specialties within cardiology. The incumbent must work with administrative and medical directorship of several departments within the inpatient as well as ambulatory settings. To achieve organizational goals using a multidisciplinary approach. Responsibilities include building a regional STEMI network by collaborating with regional hospitals; assuring continued chest pain center certification/accreditation, supervise all inpatient education for various CV diseases and procedures, outreach education, along with marketing and assisting with continual development of the various cardiac clinics. The CV-PM oversees all processes related to clinical data collection, monitoring and outcomes presentation, as they relate to CVSL national database initiatives. Processes include identifying appropriate populations, data abstraction, data entry, report generation, outcomes presentations and auditing. The incumbent assures the integrity and accuracy of all processes. The incumbent also supervises the Cardiovascular Analysts; serves as the site coordinator for multiple national database initiatives; presents data to various SVH committees; and may direct or participate in performance improvement activities.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required

  • Master's Degree Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 3 years Nursing experience in a cardiovascular, emergency department or critical care setting. Required

  • 1 year Management experience. Required


Skills and Abilities

  • Direct experience with performance improvement, quality management and standards compliance (Required proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse - KSBN Required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required


What you will do

  • Reviews clinical outcomes from the database and recommends indicators for focused performance improvement activity utilizing PEX initiatives.

  • Coordinates performance projects across involved departments to include engaging frontline staff and facilitating implementation of process changes, when necessary.

  • Collaborates with all stakeholders to develop, maintain and revise STEMI transfer protocols, supporting documentation, and providing performance feedback.

  • Develop and market the multiple cardiovascular programs to regional providers.

  • Works with other Cardiology Managers within the CV Service Line to coordinate the care of patients within cardiology subspecialties.

  • Works with multiple disciplines within the inpatient as well as ambulatory settings to coordinate transitions of database initiatives between cardiology and other practices.

  • Develops, organizes and presents (when applicable) educational programs related to cardiac diseases, to internal and external stakeholders, including internal and regional providers.

  • Provides education to the general public to raise awareness and engage the broader community in activities which will improve the outcome for cardiac patients.

  • Responsible for data integrity and compliance with approved definitions for all database initiatives to include oversight of the work of the Cardiovascular Analysts.

  • Responsible for the cardiovascular education provided by the three Inpatient Educators to include monitoring of documentation, referrals, for appropriate follow up appointments and collaboration with multidisciplinary team.


Travel Requirements

  • 10% for educational programs related to cardiac diseases, to internal and external stakeholders, including internal and regional providers.
