About the Role
Responsible for leading and directing the entire landscape of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and engineering systems within the engineering organization. Ensuring all initiatives and projects are tracking to budget, on time, correctly resourced, and progressing per contract requirements. Effectively, communicate & collaborate with developers, stakeholders, leaders, end-users, and cross-functional teams, as applicable. Act as the organizations subject matter expert as it pertains to Teamcenter administration, customization, and integration, along with proficiency in data modeling and schema design for PLM systems.
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the strategic planning, organization, budget, integration, and completion for PLM initiatives and engineering systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Execute the strategic plan by clearly communicating expectations to employees, conducting regular staff meetings, and maintaining personal interactions with team members supporting assigned programs.
- Select new employees with respect to allocation of resources needed with required skills.
- Create an environment that is diverse in technical competence.
- Collaborate with other teams, departments, and functions.
- Lead a team and set the set the compass for Cosma Engineering Systems and PLM initiatives.
- Define the strategic path that aligns with organizational goals and strategy. Be the subject matter expert in all things related to PLM.
- Effectively communicate with developers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Work with Internal and External consultants and contractors to support the development, configuration, and installation of the PLM solutions to support Cosma Engineering globally.
- Research the user groups for support and introduction of customizations and enhancements.
- Support and facilitate the resolution of user/system/data issues. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of your team and the PLM system.
- Provide technical feedback, mentor team members, and lead by example.
- Facilitate and align of workflow/processes to the Cosma Global Business practices.
- Plan and monitor Regression and User supported acceptance Validation Testing.
- Strategies for scaling PLM systems to handle large datasets and concurrent users.
- Ability to assess PLM software vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Research new technologies, ensuring alignment with system software and hardware requirements, and make recommendations.
- Prepare budgets, PO preparation, invoice management, and propose personnel based on individual skillset and assigned program requirements. Communicate anticipated budgets to the Director and conduct continuous review meetings following project initiation.
- Create and maintain an organized set of documentation of resolution and lessons learned.
- Recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products, systems, and/or procedures.
- Responsible for keeping the organization abreast of developments in the PLM field.
- Manage multiple projects among global and regional teams.
- Effectively and continually appraise performance, rewards, and discipline to employees. Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Solve complex challenges with creativity and efficiency.
- Act with honesty and integrity, and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna’s Compliance Policies and Procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
