DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Evaluation chemical and physical hazards within the organization to ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA Laboratory Standard
Review and update policies, procedures and manuals
Conduct physical inspections of laboratories, fume hoods, gas cylinders, chemicals, PPE practices, etc.
Review chemical inventories, laboratory SOPs, training documentation, safety data sheets, inspection/audit findings
Review IIP, EAP, chemical hygiene plan, job safety analysis, spill logs
Review vendor contracts and waste manifests and chemical purchasing
Research and recommend practical solutions for improvement of the program


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies and Cal OSHA laws and regulations.
Seven to 10 years of related experience
