Staff Attorney, Privacy (US)

The Opportunity

• Reporting to the Director, Privacy, you will provide regular support to partners including information technology, cybersecurity, people team, marketing; provide support for other privacy-team, and act as subject matter expert for other QRG legal team members. You will also track and support privacy's data breach / incident response activities for QRG US and support collaboration with cybersecurity-incident response team

• This role is hybrid-remote and based in West Chester, PA.

Your Impact

•  Help with compliance projects for QRG US, including compliance with privacy laws from California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and other state privacy laws; federal privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, GLBA, Shine the Light, VPPA, including:

• Provide project management for projects to align practices with our privacy laws.

• Conduct work to implement and maintaining privacy practices to ensure QRG US continues to comply with applicable privacy and data protection law

• Handle initial intake and assist with responses to inquiries from data regulators, customers, team members, and other partners;

• Review and assess understanding of business activities with legal requirements

• Conduct initial assessment of QRG US privacy reviews, quality check for errors and incomplete or inconsistent responses, and complete low-risk privacy reviews.

• Work and communicate with the business to ensure implementation is aligned with the privacy program

• Communicate guidelines and guardrails for implementation of systems and use of data.

• Assist implementation and periodic reviews of policies, notices, and practices to facilitate  compliance with our privacy obligations; research and monitor changes in privacy law and laws affecting personal data retention obligations.

• Meet with QRG US business on privacy guidance

What You Bring

• Juris Doctorate or Law Dgree from an accredited law school.

• CIPP Certification

• Experience supporting data privacy agreements.

• Experience implementating and periodic reviews of policies, notices, and practices to facilitate  compliance with our privacy obligations;

• Experience researching and monitoring changes in privacy law and laws affecting personal data retention obligations.

• Experience conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) involving internal risks,

• Experience partnering with information technology / cybersecurity to maintain current and accurate data inventory practices.

• Experience assessing general training programs (e.g. onboarding, annual training), developing training for high risk groups, and creating communications for team members.
