Title: Revenue Accounting Manager

Job Summary
The Revenue Manager will own the revenue recognition process across the Company in accordance with ASC 606 and work with our Revenue Ops, Sales, FP&A, and Accounting organizations.  In addition, you will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day commission administration resulting in accurate and timely commission payments to our growing sales team.  You will report to the Controller and work cross-functionally across the teams.

Key Responsibilities:
As a member of the Accounting team and working our Revenue Ops, Sales and FP&A teams the role will:

  • Interpret customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition per ASC 606 across our products and services
  • Own the revenue month end close process including preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation of revenue accounts to deliver timely and accurate financial results
  • Prepare revenue reporting and analytical materials to support companywide monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables
  • Work cross functionally to standardize procedures, drive process improvements and automation efforts to streamline revenue accounting operations and improve quality of monthly closes, including internal controls.
  • Assist Billing team as needed in relation to proper invoicing in accordance with our customer contracts
  • Ensure completeness around the revenue recognition process including that all clients have been billed and revenue has been properly recorded
  • Liaison with Revenue Operations in managing the activities of our sales incentive compensation programs including the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly reports to ensure accuracy / completeness of commission payouts
  • Perform testing and other support activities related to plan, quota, and sales commissions plan changes.
  • Interface with external auditors

  • Experience in high-growth /pre-IPO Technology companies

The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000, plus company bonus. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, geo-location and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or other related field
  • 5-6 years of experience in Finance/Accounting in SAAS / “SAAS-like” technology companies or organizations. Experience with usage based billing is a big plus.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, or other similar accounting software
