Position Specific Description

The Project Manager Development in this role assists the development team in successfully progressing viable new or enhanced generation projects within the West region by identifying and implementing best practices in community engagement and prioritizing early-stage projects.  

Preferred qualifications are:

  • Experience with siting renewable generation projects
  • Experience with engaging local governments and community leaders
  • Experience with issue-oriented campaigns

 

Location: Must be residing in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, or Southern California.

Employees in this role assist in the development and execution of plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job coordinates the allocation of resources, schedules, and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner.

Additional Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and help execute engagement opportunities within project communities and with respective stakeholders
  • Assist developers throughout the designated region in establishing key relationships
  • Coordinate and collaborate with developers, consultants, and local stakeholders on how to best foster local relationships
  • Foster external relationships with customers, third parties, and members of the community
  • Identify ways to mute opposition efforts
  • Travel expected to be 50% or more
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Public affairs, political campaigns, local government, or RTO/ISO experience preferred.

This position participates in all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
  • Coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
  • Supports due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
  • Assists in the construction of contractual arrangements for project development
  • Participates in negotiating agreements with consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 3+ years
