  Job Overview 
We are looking for a director to oversee the social and video teams for Cosmopolitan & Seventeen. The candidate will work on all day-to-day operations critical to Cosmopolitan and Seventeen’s social and video strategy. 
This candidate should have experience managing large social audiences, producing creative social and video content, and managing a team. 
 

Who you are: 
Social Responsibilities 

  • Oversee social & video leads for Cosmo & Seventeen
  • Oversee social & video strategy for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen’s active platforms
  • Drive a consistent strategy for performative and growth-driving daily churn content 
  • Ensure TikTok leads meet weekly TikTok Publisher program quotas with original content
  • Content rollouts for buzzy stories, features, and cover breaks
  • Increase engagement on key platforms
  • Uphold impeccable editorial judgment in all written and scripted content
  • Deliver informative reporting about tentpole events to key stakeholders and staff
  • Extend lifecycle of content to stretch across platforms via creative storytelling 
  • Deliver growth and engagement strategy for Apple News and Pushly
  • Collaborate on the execution of the brands’ Creator Program footprints 

Video Responsibilities 

  • Partner with EIC to plan and execute original programming that will succeed on social platforms and on YouTube
  • Deliver robust roll-out plans for video launches 
  • Liaise with centralized video team on longform video cut-down strategy 
What you’ll do:
  • Manage a team of ambitious social and video editors
  • A social-minded video and content lead with 6+ years of professional social media experience, strong editorial judgment, clean writing skills, and managing experience
  • A wordsmith who has experience handling social media for a magazine, website, or brand and understands the brand’s voice
  • A pop culture junkie who loves spotting and trying the newest social trends
  • A savvy strategist who knows how to utilize social platforms and tools like Dash Hudson
  • A video editor proficient in Adobe Premiere, TikTok Editor, and CapCut
  • A lover of fast-paced, collaborative environments
  • Able to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Must have excellent communication and organization skills

The base salary for this role is between $133,000 - $150,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
