Description of Work

This position, located in Rocky Mount, serves as an administrative support professional responsible for a broad range of business and financial functions that support the Rocky Mount CDSA in maximizing agency revenue through accurate and timely reimbursement for services.

Under the supervision of the Business Services Coordinator, responsibilities include processing public and commercial insurance billing, reviewing and submitting claims through NC Tracks, verifying Medicaid eligibility, and managing Prior Authorizations through the NC Tracks Operations Portal.

The role involves troubleshooting billing and authorization issues, communicating effectively with providers to resolve claim discrepancies, and ensuring timely reimbursement for services. Additional duties include assisting with supply inventory, fixed asset management, purchasing activities, maintaining accurate business records, and other duties as needed.

This position requires strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to explain and interpret policies, procedures, and billing information to clients, providers, customers, and staff.

Success in this role depends on maintaining a high level of accuracy, providing excellent customer service, and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support the agency's operational and financial goals.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39,244 -$68,679

Recruitment Range: $39,244 -$41,429

  • Demonstrated experience in public and commercial insurance billing.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Proficient in navigating multiple electronic billing systems to process claims and resolve billing issues.

  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, examining, and preparing documents.

  • Demonstrated experience in compiling, organizing and analyzing financial information and other data.

About the NC Division of Child and Family Well-Being:
The Division of Child and Family Well-Being is a division at the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) that will focus on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians with several sections including nutrition programs (WIC, SNAP and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health & prevention services for children and youth, children’s behavioral health programs, and early intervention programs. The Operations Unit is in the Community Nutrition Services Section (CNSS) in the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW).
