The NASA Ames Research Center, beginning in 2015, has developed a next generation International Space Station (ISS) Intra-Vehicular Activity (IVA) Free-Flyer named Astrobee. Astrobee is part of the ISS National Lab making them available for research use. The Astrobee Team works with guest scientists to integrate hardware and software with Astrobee, provide ground support during ISS operations, and provide Astrobee telemetry to users after each test session. The Astrobee Team is looking for a motivated self-started to lead Astrobee operations planning and execution. The individual will be responsible to lead a small team to develop procedures for ISS crew, interact with ISS crew during Astrobee activities and preparing documentation for ISS payload integration.

The successful candidate will have experience leading small teams, creating procedures, understanding robotics and robotics concepts, leading procedure reviews, conducting operations rehearsals, conducting real-time ISS operations, interacting with ISS crew, training crew, ISS timeline and planning, research equipment and protocols, defining experiments, preparing safety assessments. ---

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• · M.S. in Engineering or related field preferred.
• BA/BS +12 years
• · Good communication skills
• · Experience preparing and executing ISS crew procedures

Other desired Skills:

• · Experience with the ISS Safety process
• · Experience with Crew training
• · ISS crew communication certification
• · Experience with the ISS community, i.e. POIC and MCC operations personnel

Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.

Basic Compensation:

$190,000 - $220,000

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
