About the role

The Compliance Management Operations (CMO) team within the Business Ethics & Compliance organization collaborates with various business units (BUs) to provide tools and resources for effective compliance management. The Project Specialist will work with organizations to ensure adherence to CMO processes, including documentation, training, reporting, and follow-up. This role will support the Department Manager in Compliance Risk Management, the expansion of standardized regulatory administration, organizational regulatory intake within the designated software system. Also, the candidate will help develop Global Compliance Performance Metrics and conduct associated analyses to identify and implement compliance improvement plans as needed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Participate in Planning: Contribute to the development of short, mid, and long-term plans for Compliance Management Operations, focusing on engagement and process implementation with the regulated businesses of CEl.
  • Assists in continued governance and assurance that the regulated businesses are effectively managing compliance through use of the compliance framework elements and continuous process improvements.
  • Consistently ensures organizations promote a culture of integrity, self-manage regulatory compliance, identify & mitigate risk and document compliance while tabulating metrics to measure performance in the area.
  • Regulatory Strategy Development: Develop and implement governance strategies specific that ensures organizational compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves assessing regulatory risks and advising business units on the best approaches to meet regulatory objectives.
  • Analytical thinking and execution by evaluating complex data to identify trends and solutions. Technical Proficiency by having familiarity with data modeling and process improvement tools, SQL, Excel, and GRC systems. Understanding of business processes and strategic goals
  • Interfaces and collaborates with Company groups that presently have responsibilities for compliance. By working with applicable groups, assist in incorporating or managing changes necessary to ensure enterprise solutions will promote best practices and verbatim compliance, as applicable.
  • FERC Program Administration: Provide administrative oversight and coordinate activities within the program to meet goals and objectives. Manage policies to ensure accurate and timely administration of FERC and corporate policies. Supports timely reporting and communication of FERC related matters to the board and senior leadership.
  • Participates in compliance committees, procedure development committees and training reviews.
  • Ensures business units implements consistent practices by utilizing the data management tools offered by Compliance Management. Work with the Technology section to develop and implement processes that ensures consistent documentation practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, such as legal, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure that all aspects of the companys operations comply with regulatory standards.   • Assists in the preparation and issuance of internal Company reports that measure Company operating organization compliance performance and provide feedback to business units on areas for improvement.

  • Assists with the department's workforce development and training activities, which may include working with The Learning Center staff, Engineering and the operating organizations in the development of training programs.
  • Contribute to Key Performance Indicators that will assist Compliance Management to define and measure progress toward organizational goals.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as required.
  • All of the foregoing is expected to be handled by Project Specialist (2H) - with a moderate level of supervision
  • Direct, mentor and teach lower band specialists within the Compliance Group. Direction will include assigning and reviewing work, collaboration on new strategies, methods and development of successful compliance programs.
