The Opportunity

We seek an individual who is a strategic thinker capable of influencing and driving business objectives while upholding Puig's culture and values. The Director, HR Business Partner - Retail & Field, West Coast, will play a pivotal role as a trusted advisor to our Retail and Field teams. This role involves developing and implementing effective People strategies to support overall business objectives, including Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Compliance, and Change Management in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you'll get to do

Strategic Business Partner

  • Establish effective relationships and partnerships with business leaders.
  • Provide active leadership, in partnership with business leadership teams, on HR issues such as employee relations, talent management, organizational development/change, culture, and learning and development.
  • Navigate changing environments, address complexity strategically, and promote an inclusive and diverse workforce.
  • Oversee and drive the delivery and execution of People initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate with Brand leadership to identify key business priorities supporting business objectives and growth.
  • Develop and implement the annual HR Retail Strategy.
  • Be an analytical and creative problem solver.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Lead the implementation and execution of the people strategy and performance culture, including Succession Planning.
  • Proactively address employee issues, providing guidance and resolution for a positive work environment.
  • Drive compliance training across all stores.
  • Conduct and successfully resolve investigations when necessary.
  • Foster a culture of engagement and empowerment that values diversity and demonstrates fair and consistent management practices.

Training and Development

  • Coach team leaders on engaging and developing employees effectively to build people capabilities.
  • Analyze and proactively define talent needs and capabilities to develop retention strategies.
  • Maximize team performance through coaching leaders in providing feedback and development to their teams.
  • Facilitate leadership development programs to ensure an internal talent pipeline.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies, working closely with leaders to identify training needs and address skill gaps.
  • Support the talent review process to ensure consistent and equitable decision-making, providing training and coaching on the overall talent process.

Performance Management

  • Provide coaching and support to managers addressing performance issues and developing employee skills.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and nurture high potentials for career growth.
  • Provide guidance to brand leaders on preparing and delivering performance reviews.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to execute comprehensive recruitment strategies for attracting top talent.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, conduct interviews, and make hiring decisions.
  • Streamline and optimize the onboarding process to provide a world-class employee experience.

We'd love to meet you if you have

  • 8+ years of HR-related experience demonstrating knowledge of core HR processes, including employee relations, leadership development, talent and performance management, organization design, and succession planning.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Expert knowledge of CA state and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience leading HR initiatives/Change Management projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the Wellness and Hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
