Job Description:

JOB TITLE:      Lead Software Architect

LOCATION:    Kansas City, MO      

DUTIES:         

• Design and configure new API enhancements. Work with APIM cloud gateway platform - API management to complete end-to-end lifecycle development from build and publish through monetizing use of an API.
• Build micro service and cloud native applications. Build API specification for the developer portal with OpenAPI specification model. Connect and aggregate multiple endpoints from heterogeneous landscape.
• Simplify managed APIs and collaborations with business and client. Solve technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing APIs to meet changing user requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new APIs and initiatives to support and enhance the existing systems.
• Work collaboratively with business, application development, and Infrastructure technology departments to set the technology direction, vision, and strategy to modernize from the current legacy set up to a Cloud defined micro services-based architecture.
• Ensure that new and existing systems are aligned to micro services-based architecture driven by Domain Driven techniques and cloud native design patterns.
•  Identify and document the strategic business and technical reference architecture based on a deep understanding of DST (SS&C) business objectives.
• Lead and participate in internal and external communities focused on the improvement of development and support of APIM.
• Establish overall architecture principles and partner with project teams or other architects to ensure the enterprise vision is achieved.
• Research and identify required architecture components and/or frameworks that may span multiple products or areas of technology and develop position statements on the most complex, functional architectural principles that have the highest impact and risk exposure to the organization.
• Create models and conduct feasibility, cost/benefit, and risk analyses to make recommendations that support long-term product maintainability, reliability, scalability, while achieving and promoting business objectives.
• Provide strategic architectural direction, and mentor more junior associates. Work with network infrastructure and enterprise networking groups.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering followed by 6 years of progressive experience in the job offered or 6 years of progressive experience in the related occupations of Lead Engineer, Associate - Projects, Senior Software Engineer, Advanced Software Developer or equivalent performing software development duties using Java.
• Experience to include therein 4 years developing microservices within a cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or proprietary cloud.
• 4 years of experience therein in Spring, REST, and RDBMS / SQL.
• Experience to also include 4 years therein in Kubernetes or Docker, Kafka, GraphQL, Linux, Junit or unit testing equivalent frameworks, Angular or React, HTML5, and CSS.
