About the role

The WSP Pacific Northwest Earth and Environment (E&E) Local Business-Line Leader (LBL) is a key member of the Mountain Pacific regional leadership team, responsible for meeting the annual business plan goals for E&E and the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan in the Pacific Northwest. Within the local geographic markets, leads business development and service delivery through successful execution of WSP USA’s strategy, focused on our four pillars of success: Clients, Expertise, People & Culture and Operational Excellence. The LBL is a hybrid role, providing operational leadership while remaining engaged with projects and client delivery. 

 

 Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for delivering all operational metrics across a team of 175 consultants that provide environmental permitting, environmental water, site investigation and remediation, geotechnical and compliance related services
  • Optimizes the client and employee experience 
  • Focuses on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards
  • Responsible for the development and execution of strategic business plans for markets and sectors in the Pacific Northwest
  • Collaborates with regional leadership to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metrics
  • Coordinate with local internal and external client account managers to drive sales and resource allocation in geographic area of responsibility
  • Provides commercial risk management and governance in the execution of defined delegation of authority.

  • Utilizes our extended reach across offices, regions and the globe to pursue opportunities that foster and expand new and innovative client delivery 
  • Deploys our unique expertise and perspective to create new value for clients and provides civic and industry leadership within the local market geography 
  • Manages client coordination and cross-selling efforts across all WSP business lines in coordination with Region, National Business Lines, Sector and strategic growth team 
  • Has a deep understanding of addressable markets in the local geography, drives performance of the business and strategically grows our market share to ensure WSP is a preferred provider to our clients

 

 Expertise 

  • Leverages our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings 
  • Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry
  • Supports the advancement of the strategic direction of the business line and positions the region for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan
  • Encourages, supports and promotes the technical and professional development of all staff within WSP

 

Key performance indicators include EBITDA, Organic Growth, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Health and Safety Metrics and Employee Engagement.

Direct reports include geotechnical, environmental water, remediation, compliance, permitting and planning, information management and project delivery service line leads. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology or other related field 
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant post education professional experience, including operational leadership 
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistent and goal oriented
  • Understanding of the role and end market sectors within the industry 
  • Commitment to internal and external client service 
  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes
