Description
PURPOSE/OVERVIEW:Resonate Global Mission, a ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) has an International opening for a Team Leader in Nigeria. The Team Leader is responsible along with the Resonate West and Central Africa Regional Leader for the implementation by the country team of the approved country plan and budget and the individual missionary work plans, and serves as a liaison for the country team with the Resonate Regional Leader, other CRCNA agencies and national church partners. This position will also be an Advisor to the Missions Departments of our national church partners.
This position will remain open until filled.
Salary information is available upon request from CRCNA Human Resources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:FIELD RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administration: (25%)
a) Liaise with the Resonate Regional Leader for West and Central Africa.
b) Prepare the annual country team plan and budget with the Resonate Regional Leader based on
decisions at the fall meeting of the country team and submit to the Resonate Regional Leader.
c) Direct the implementation of the annual plan and budget.
d) Support team ministries through the functional and timely work of MNAT and its sub-committees.
e) Receive and review financial reports from the Business Manager and oversee the preparation of
financial reports required by Resonate.
f) Maintain necessary and appropriate relationships with the Nigerian government.
g) Ensure that missionaries prepare home service (Reconnect) plans that fit field needs, and forward
these to Resonate.
h) Serve as the CRC representative on the Hillcrest Board of Governors.
i) Manage and maintain necessary files, records, and equipment of the mission office.
2. Partnerships: (30%)
a) Direct the development and implementation of ministry agreements with national partner
organizations.
b) Actively encourage and interact with the leadership of national church partners.
c) Manage grants to national partners.
d) Communicate with national partners, including the receipt and review of reports from partners
on joint activities and use of annual grants.
e) Encourage and support the leadership of the CRCN, RCCN and NKST Mission Departments.
f) Coordinate with other CRCNA agencies and CRCNA-related groups who are interested or active in
Nigeria.
g) Actively seek new partnership opportunities throughout Nigeria.
3. Evangelism & Discipleship: (25%)
a) Act as an advisor to the Missions Departments of our national church partners.
b) Serve as a resource to organizations and national churches in their outreach efforts.
c) Teach courses / lead workshops on missions and evangelism that engage, encourage and train
Nigerian evangelists and church leaders.
4. Member Care: (10%)
a) Establish structures and avenues for mutual support between missionaries and monitor team
morale.
b) Assist in the planning and facilitation of annual missionary retreat.
c) Monitor the Nigerian security situation and maintain necessary communication with Resonate
North America and with other mission organizations in Nigeria.
NORTH AMERICA RESPONSIBILITIES:
5. Donor Relations: (10%)
a) Maintain regular correspondence with CRCNA churches and members about ministry activities
and highlights.
b) Correspond with CRCNA churches and members about special projects and giving opportunities.
c) Ensure notes of thanks are sent to donors in a timely manner.
Note: These North America responsibilities are expected to require spending approximately
A. 15% of total salaried time in North America on home service. The primary purpose of home service is
presenting the ministry to supporting and other churches, individuals and schools - educating,
encouraging, providing, facilitating, etc. and
B. 10% of time while on the field communicating with North America including connecting to one’s
network through prayer letters, emails, etc.
NIGERIA TEAM LEADER DUTIES:
a) Coordinate the preparation of all reports required by Resonate.
b) Conduct Annual Performance Evaluations (APE) of all missionaries on the country team.
