Position Overview: The Metal Finishing Line Operator Lead will focus on increased efficiency of the line while overseeing and providing guidance to other line operators.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop workload schedules with consideration to production demands and on-time delivery requirements.
  • Delegate various duties among team members with clearly defined instructions.
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping rules to create a safe working environment.
  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Assist in training and provide guidance to other operators as needed.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety practices while working with and around hazardous chemicals.
  • Use basic geometry to calculate surface areas of various parts.
  • Cross functionally support other lines or work areas as needed and complete other tasks as assigned.
  • Support company objectives related to effective communication and accurate turnaround.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, periodic testing, and performance evaluations.

  • Adapt to frequent changes in a highly variable and challenging work environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit effective prioritization skills while upholding accuracy and consistency under pressure and/or short deadlines.


Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous leadership experience in a production environment, racking, or chemical processing experience is preferred. 
  • PC literate with at least a basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advance arithmetic skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
  • Individual must be authorized to work in the U.S. under one of the following criteria: 1. A citizen of the United States, 2. A lawful permanent resident, 3. A non-citizen National of the United States. 

Reports To: The Metal Finishing Line Operator Lead will report to the line supervisor and interface with the Metal Finishing Manager for additional guidance.

Hours: Day shift; start times may vary depending on position and department; must be flexible to work overtime and additional hours as needed to support the department in times of increased demand.
