Job Description

  • Provide technical leadership on Effector Function Testing for Biologics
  • Perform cell-based assays to support preclinical development of the molecules
  • Identifying and helping troubleshoot issues
  • Responsible for timely delivery & documentation of assay data and providing support for study reports

Other expertise desired for the role are:

  • Biology experience, including, but not limited to, the following: mammalian cell culture techniques and cell-based assay development
  • ELISAs and luciferase reporter assays
  • Flow cytometry
  • Capable of balancing multiple tasks at once while delivering the highest standard of quality data.
  • Having SPR expertise is a plus

Additional Preferences: 

  • Experience:
  1. Transient and/or stable cell line generation
  2. Experience with automation of cell-based assays on Hamilton or other Liquid handlers.
  3. Characterizing protein structure and function using various biochemical/biophysical approaches such as SPR
  4. Characterizing protein: protein interactions
  5. Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  6. Graphing data in GraphPad Prism
  7. Strong interpersonal skills; able to foster an environment for learning and open/honest communication
  8. Ability to identify and implement operational and organizational improvements
  9. Analytical/Problem-Solving skills
  • Supervision of others:
  1. Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements
  2. Foster motivation and morale
  3. Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
  4. Prepare and review job plans, conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growth
  5. Laboratory maintenance (e.g. cleaning and sanitizing of laboratory)
  6. Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration
  7. Proactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivity
  8. Ensure that the quality policy program is understood, implemented, and maintained at all levels of the organization; identify, prevent, or correct any departures from the quality system
  9. Develop and implement operational improvements
  10. Monitor and approve employees’ time worked through time-entry system
  11. Support and promote company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Strong computer and organizational skills and experience with Excel and QualityDocs (controlled content management platform)
  • Ability to learn, prioritize multiple tasks, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with internal and external clients, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
