Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to execute chief of staff responsibilities supporting the Production, Test, and Launch Engineering Capability Senior Director.

This role is located onsite at Kennedy Space Center, FL for a highly motivated individual with demonstrated high performance and applied experience within Production, Test, and Launch Engineering position(s).

A successful candidate will have strong leadership skills with an understanding of BDS production engineering, BDS business, experience executing on multiple programs, with demonstrated experience in creative thinking, developing strategies, with proficient visual presentation skills, a high level of discipline, and familiarity of program management best practices. Resilience and aptitude for problem solving is a must, with the selected candidate being biased toward action, finding solutions, and enabling the rest of the team to execute efficiently and effectively.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact representing Executive Director office for Production, Test & Launch (PT&L) Engineering Capability, engaging with division and PT&L leadership stakeholders – conducting business matters with professionalism and continuity to the voice of the office.

  • Works closely with executive to understand vision and develop presentations with minimal direction, leveraging the team for input.

  • Applies critical and strategic thought to business activities and develop recommendations.

  • Understands expectations for key internal and external stakeholder engagements and leads preparations to ensure executive readiness and professional execution well ahead of need dates.

    • Prepares materials and documents for executive-level meetings and periodic reviews

    • Coordinates key talking points with managers

    • Has demonstrated ability to understand the business, develop the narrative, and communicate through crisp chart visualization and messaging, tailoring to the audience

  • Collaborates across the PT&L Leadership Team to support execution of our priorities, develop strong relationships, and utilize input – owning PT&L priority scorecard and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking

  • Leads structured organization cadence for the capability and owns program battle rhythm; responsible for planning of large meetings, senior leadership meetings, etc, planning in advance for known events.

    • Communicate and publish battle rhythm information, ensure team preparedness/organization for files before and after meetings

    • Coordinate with the team and OA for executive site visits

    • Bring forward recommended topics and draft charts for PT&L SI&WS capability briefings & other meetings as appropriate

    • Own preparation / coordination for director webcasts, communications, offsites

  • Develops and implements plans to drive actions to closure, communicate information, proactively engage on items.

  • Effectively communicates – working across key horizontal and vertical integration interfaces between programs, divisions, partners, leaders. Draft executive level communication emails, as requested

  • Proactive schedule and project management – ensuring commitments are met ahead of time. Communicates weekly to executive director with at least two weeks look ahead to prepare any upcoming engagements and to ensure executive readiness

  • Staffing: Ownership of PT&L staffing quarterly forecasts, staffing governance management, and requisition reports

  • Coordinate weekly 5-15 status reports from leaders, and work with them to shape the content to meet executive expectations

  • Special projects providing technical, business, and integration leadership.

  • Coordinate monthly with PT&L portal editors to ensure portal is up to date and correlates with strategic outlook of capability

  • Maintain PT&L email distribution lists

  • Ownership and maintenance of PT&L SharePoint locations as appropriate for organization / distribution
